Is there any off ramp before the full 4 years? Nope. No one's gonna trade for him unless you pick up most of his salary and he has a no trade clause anyway. Just have to cut him at some point. We became a bit creative in extending Donaldson’s injuries. Stanton has to want to reach 500 HR. Not playing may drive him away… So we make him sit, and we give him a little bonus to waive his no trade clause. Some cellar dweller needs a power bat, or even some contender looking for a bat to get hot down the stretch. Maybe a team in Japan or Timbuckthree. He has to go somewhere… |
