NO ONE Is talking about this....but I think Cashman and the Yankees made a big mistake letting catcher Kyle Higashioka leave.. This would have helped Yoshi with a smother transition to the Majors seeing Kyle knows Japanese language and their culture.

As for Higgy, he is a fourth generation Japanese American. He learned how to speak Japanese apparently but I don't think he is fluent. I agree that having him would help the transition. But we had an excess of catchers and with the return he helped get back (Soto) can we really complain about losing him?

On the other side of the coin, someone had to go with all the catchers we have, and at age 34 next year, it figured Kyle would be the one…
