In my opinion, Soto will sign where he gets the most money. I do not believe any other factor plays into the decision.

That's why giving King and the top pitching prospect and others for a rental is a very bad idea! Players today could care less about NY or the pinstripes! Show them the greenbacks! That's all they care about! He will be a FA at the end of the year!

Vote for the laundry and let the shirts and jock straps be filled by various players at whatever time. The way I see it, we play in 2024. We win in 2024. Next winter we’ll worry about 2025. King and Thorpe might each grab a Cy Young or two, or they might bomb out. Soto may or may not return. The Yanks are going to have to learn to play in the new financial reality or be cellar dwellers…

It was that simple!

It was that simple! The Yankees have been offering the second or third highest bid for a while now. It was rumored/reported that the Yankees were not the highest bidder for Aaron Judge, who preferred to stay in Pinstripes than opting for a few more million dollars. As long as the Yankees employ Brian Cashman, the Yankees will be hard pressed to get to and win a World Series without returning to their number one spot in payroll. Cashman has no idea how to build a roster, as evidenced by years of having a right-handed heavy lineup in a stadium built for left-handed hitters. Unless the Yankees catch fire in the playoffs and all the breaks go their way, the Yankees with Cashman MUST compete with their greatest asset: their bank account. Cashman takes years to realize his mistakes and still will not admit to them. There is a reason the Yankees brought in Omar Minaya and Brian Sabean - Cashman has no gift for evaluating talent before it is in full bloom.

Every year I hope to hear the Yankees are up for sale… Maybe someday Jeter will put a group together…
