More cut downs. I’d better start getting myself in shape for the season and develop more interest. This is unusual…

I do other stuff while I have ST games on. When the season ramps forward, that's when my interest peaks.... I'm more concerned with filing taxes prior to the start of the season. This is my first year with only Social Security for the whole year. According to H&R Block I needn’t file anything with the exception of my Colorado Tabor refund form. Eight hundred bucks each. You bet I’ll be sending that in…

Interesting to see Torrens getting a start at catcher. Maybe he's turning some heads?

LATEST NEWS Yankees Transactions and Injury Report From MLB.COM
March 6: LHP Tanner Tully reassigned to Minor League camp Tully tossed 4 scoreless innings across 2 Grapefruit League appearances this spring. The 29-year-old was 5-5 with a 5.64 ERA in 19 starts for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season.
March 5: INF Jeter Downs, INF Caleb Durbin, OF Spencer Jones and OF Brandon Lockridge sent to Minor League camp Jones, the Yankees’ No. 2 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, went 1-for-2 with a double in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Mets. The 2022 1st-round Draft pick finished 7-for-15 with 1 HR and 4 RBIs in 8 games during his 1st Spring Training with New York.
Downs went 3-for-13 (.231) with 3 RBIs in 7 games this spring, while Durbin went 1-for-10 with 4 runs scored in 7n games. Lockridge appeared in 8 games and went 3-for-15 (.200) with 4 RBIs.
March 3: OF Alex Verdugo (left leg contusion) scratched Verdugo was scratched from the Yankees’ March 3rd lineup against the Tigers, a day after being hit by a pitch against the Orioles in Sarasota, Fla. Verdugo was shagging fly balls in the outfield during batting practice after the lineup change was announced, so the injury does not appear to be serious.
March 3: RHP Luis Gil and RHP Yoendrys Gómez optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre; RHP Chase Hampton and RHP Art Warren reassigned to Minor League camp These marked the Yankees’ first cuts of the spring. Gil allowed 2 runs in 2 Spring Training innings (9.00 ERA) as he rebounds from Tommy John surgery, while Gómez -- New York's No. 23 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline -- allowed 2 runs in two-thirds of an inning (27.00 ERA). Hampton, the Yanks’ No. 4 prospect, tossed a scoreless inning. Warren did not appear in a game.
After announcing those cuts, the Yankees further trimmed the roster later in the day. Catchers Josh Breaux and Ben Rice, and right-hander Joey Gerber were reassigned to Minor League camp. Infielder Jordan Groshans was outrighted off the Major League roster and onto the roster of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
INJURY UPDATES
RHP Tommy Kahnle (right shoulder inflammation) Expected return: April Kahnle said on March 6 that he does not expect to pitch in games until the first week of the regular season, so it is unlikely that he will be on the Opening Day roster. Manager Aaron Boone said on March 4 that Kahnle “is a little behind” the rest of the relievers, adding that the right-hander is still building up following a shoulder issue that ended his season early last September. Kahnle said he had hoped to begin his throwing program around Thanksgiving but was unable to do so until Dec. 12 due to lingering discomfort. He was pain-free as of March 6. (Last updated: March 6)
C Jose Trevino (left calf strain) Expected return: Early to mid March Trevino continues to work his way back from the strain he suffered while preparing for Spring Training. Manager Aaron Boone said the catcher had a “full day” of running on March 1 and is scheduled to do so again on March 3, after which he could be cleared to play in Grapefruit League games as soon as March 6.
"He’s in a position where it looks like he's going to get plenty of time to get three weeks of games in before the season,” Boone said. (Last updated: March 1)
60-day IL
RHP Lou Trivino (recovery from Tommy John surgery) Expected return: Summer 2024 Trivino was re-signed to a Major League contract with an option for 2025 on Feb. 14th. The Yankees expect Trivino, who has resumed a throwing program, to return at some point during the summer. Trivino underwent Tommy John surgery on May 3rd, 2023. (Last updated: Feb. 15th)
OF Jasson Domínguez (right ulnar collateral ligament tear) Expected return: June or July Domínguez was diagnosed with a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow on Sept. 10th. He underwent Tommy John surgery on Sept. 20th, which included the addition of internal bracing. Dr. Keith Meister performed the procedure in Arlington.
The Yankees said that Domínguez’s anticipated recovery process is expected to take 9-10 months. Domínguez resumed his throwing program on Feb. 12 and could swing a bat by the end of February, with the hope that he is engaging in baseball exercises by the time the club breaks camp. (Last updated: Feb. 15th)
RHP Scott Effross (Tommy John surgery, back surgery) Expected return: Summer 2024 Effross underwent Tommy John surgery in October 2022 and began a throwing program on March 6, 2023. According to manager Aaron Boone, Effross began experiencing back discomfort in the fall, which prompted a microdiscectomy of his L-4 and L-5 vertebrae in December. Boone said that Effross will have “a slow ramp-up” with the goal of pitching in big league games sometime this summer. He was transferred to the 60-day injured list on Feb. 14th.

I rarely pay attention to spring training games or results.
To me, exhibition season rarely changes anything, with a few exceptions:
1) Injuries to players, especially shoulder and elbow injuries to pitchers 2) Late trades and free agent signings 3) Roster construction, prospects who stay and those who are sent back down 4) A huge increase in slugging percentage by a player with an multi-major league season established power level over 30 or more spring training plate appearances, which can indicate a swing/approach change
Other than that, I don't pay much attention to it.

Finally healthy, Burdi might steal a bullpen spot.
