I guess I never said I would go all in. Others have. I’ll go as far in as I think is intellectually bearable, but I’m not going to get totally screwed over…9 years… harumph! … And i never said to give the guy 9 years , heck i doubt anyone will or he will have been signed by now . But i would for 6 years , maybe 7 if there is an opt out I think Snell is off the table now. Unless he makes the next move. Nothing is done until the ink dries…

The delta is too big at this point. Boras won’t allow his clients to give in so fast. He and Snell have to find out that no one else is going to come knocking first. It’s the way of bargaining…

Just one question , who was correa’s rep a few years ago?

Don’t recall. Was it Boros? … I dont either but he ended up taking much less than he was demanding But it took time for him to realize he wasn’t getting the big payday. The power of negotiations. If we start dangling alternative offers in Snell’s face it puts him in a position of power. Let him start begging around the majors first. He’s (or Boros) are still in denial right now, thinking some team will see their competition make a live and become desperate to make a corresponding move. Almost guaranteed that they were excited when the Butned trade was made, expecting to hear from every team in the AL EAST. Silence is golden…

They shouldnt rule him out as a possibility I don’t think they have. But at this point you wait. See if he suddenly gets a market. Maybe he will and we can Make a competitor bid. Maybe he doesn’t and he comes back to us and he’s lowered his ask. Then maybe you find a compromise between what we offered and his new ask. Did you ever negotiate a contract on a professional level or act as a buyer for a company? I did for about 17 years…Snell is going to play somewhere, but no one is going to at his current ask. It’s a game…

If this team is a true contender, I don't think trading Gleyber is going to happen. They'll keep him and go all in to win. I wouldn't sign Snell either. Chi, I agree. As for Snell the Yankees probably won't sign Snell if they are going to be over the top L-Tax threshold with it's dollar for dollar penalty.

Huge difference between Snell and Burnes in talent and cost. Burnes at 15 million would have been worth exceeding the luxury tax threshold.
