It's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, Kay, but in reality you must prove your innocence to be pronounced not guilty. And, Bauer was suspended by MLB immediately after the accusations were made and prior to any investigation. Even after two years of investigation, the district attorney could never issue a formal charge. Unlike Bauer, the DA did issue formal charges against me, but then I was just a college student and not a multi-millionaire with deep pockets. You lose two and a half years of your life waiting for a trial for something you didn't do, then tell me how quick you are to issue pronouncements of guilt and innocence from a YouTube video. Am I scum because I was actually accused, formal charges issued, arrested, jailed, and went to trial? I found out quickly who my friends and even family were. I still wake up at night in cold sweats, my heart beating out of my chest, dreaming that it is happening all over again - over 35 years later. I also found out that detectives and police offers lie and even lie without compunction on the witness stand under oath. Luckily, I was able to PROVE my innocence and after a four-day trial was acquitted after 15 minutes of deliberations. Still my life was just about ruined; I was in debt from legal fees; had difficulty finding even menial jobs, and could not even apply for law school, while the postponed trial hung over my head like the sword of Damocles. If not for Sarah, I would have gladly eaten a bullet. Even just three years ago, I applied and landed a job and even though I paid 25,000 dollars to get my record expunged legally in court years ago, the arrest still came up on a background check. I was let go from the position just a week later. That's right, over 30 years after being acquitted for something I didn't do, I was released from a job "without cause." If you ever go through what I did, you might see things differently. Just because you are accused, doesn't mean it is true or accurate or there is not an ulterior motive of those involved. I find some people go through life in a charmed fashion, with both parents and a nuclear family, no child abuse or beatings, and can fall ass-backwards avoiding any pitfalls and land in a pile of Christmas. For those who do not, life is viewed though different lenses. M All excellent points, and they once again remind me of the stress of my employment by those religious cultists when I was being treated like chattel after years of hard work because they had started employing cult members. I’m going to say your experience was worse than mine, but I still have my moments when then memories leak into my daily routine and I ponder the experience as well as horrible dreams where I’m back working for them and dealing with the nastiness of those other managers and even underlings that just acted liked they were what they were, untouchables. It’s really tough when you have employees behaving rudely and nastily and yet you can’t discipline them or dismiss them. I still must say that I don’t recognize the God they presented… It has been my experience that the most gullible people are those most rooted in what they believe and also the quickest to issue pronouncements of death and judgement. For some, pushing people beneath them feels falsely like rising above.

For some, pushing people beneath them feels falsely like rising above. That GM fit that profile perfectly with catch phrases like “Follow me or get out of my way”. He would be pissed off whenever my experience trumped what he thought he knew. I actually believe that he saw himself as an extension of Jesus rather than a follower. It was creepy as hell… “Follow me and I will show you the way.” Was another thing he would say.

Thanks Kaybli. I see that I’ve become a “Yankee Immortal”. After those visits I got from the Horny Police, I feared I would be named a “Yankee Immoral”… 🤓

Reading constitutional law and the Federalist Papers were once absolutely joys. After forced to see behind the curtain, idealism erodes and the most one can hope for is the chance for redemption of close friends, select family, and those open-minded and persistent enough to review actual evidence. To others, consideration ends with the scarlet letter they imprint upon you.

I mean there were 5 total accusers and an entire MLB investigation was done and suspended him for 2 years. I shouldn't have brought this up. Not something I want to argue about. Regardless, I believe this guy is scum, someone who gets his rocks off by hurting women, and don't want him anywhere near the Yankees. It's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty, Kay, but in reality you must prove your innocence to be pronounced not guilty. Just because he wasn't found guilty in a court of law doesn't make him innocent. There are multiple accusers and a whole MLB investigation and his own admissions. I have a hard time believing its all a conspiracy against Bauer. Once again, I am not indifferent to what you suffered. That was totally wrong. I just think its not parallel to Bauer's case.

Funny that in the USA the Devil Rays caved to a small percentage of the population and dropped the word “devil” from the Rays. Yet in Mexico the former Rojos decided to add Diablos to their name. Cultural differences….

I have a hard time believing its all a conspiracy against Bauer. Once again, I am not indifferent to what you suffered. That was totally wrong. I just think its not parallel to Bauer's case. For you, there may be no parallels, but to me having actually been falsely accused previously, the similarities are all too clear. As I stated, unlike me, Bauer was never even formerly charged, much less had his day in court, yet he receives no presumption of innocence because of the media and their algorithms of narrative to obtain clicks? Conspiracy is hardly needed when the manner in which we receive news is known. I can look one time on Amazon for a nail clipper and for ten years continue to receive ads in my inbox. Moreover, how does Bauer go about clearing himself to your satisfaction? Text messages from their (Bauer's and the YouTube woman's) cellphones indicated that the the person in the YouTube video planned to extort money from him before they ever got together the first time. Even after the first encounter, there was another get-together to her enthusiasm, as in subsequent text messages to him, she asked to be "choked out" as well as other statements indicating her penchant for obtaining pleasure from pain. How can you ignore those facts and hold her harmless and him as scum? These pronouncements are what I faced from people I considered good friends and even some in my own family. With all we know about The Innocence Project and DNA evidence exonerating people on death row for decades, yet a few negative articles are convincing beyond a reasonable doubt? Back in the 1980s, nearly the entire New Orleans Police Department was found to be on the take (around 90%), planting evidence and/or suppressing evidence all for the highest bidder (Mafia) and lying in court. How can nearly the entirety of a police department be dirty? Should be impossible, right? Conspiracy is simply two or more persons involved in something unlawful. For some reason, the media uses the word conspiracy as synonymous with fairy-tale. So, by your reasoning: "Just because he was not found guilty in a court of law doesn't make him innocent"; however, allegations in the media are enough to pronounce him guilty (and scum).
