For your grizzled veteran, I often don't look at spring stats because they're truly just warming up rather than bearing down to get outs. However, while Loaisaga is an established MLB reliever, he's far from having a set role and theoretically could battle for the closer's spot if Holmes falters. Loaisaga had only 4 outings this spring (3 in Grapefruit League and 1 exhibition) and nothing good came from any of them. Is there a concern for his projected bullpen role and his effectiveness?

With the new role he’s expected to fulfill he’s supposed to pitch less often, but pitch multiple innings when does pitch. It is a bit odd that he was seldom featured in the spring games, but the focus appears to be more on keeping him healthy. He could be occasionally called upon to close out a game, but not to be “the closer” because he simply won’t be available to pitch every day. I guess we’ll find out when the bell rings Thursday and we start playing for keeps…

This might be a better strategy for lots of guys.

I hope he stays healthy since the Yankees want him to be the next Michael King, bullpen version.

I'm probably in the minority but to me JLo is always injured and inconsistent. Time to move on.

Just my opinion...He has good stuff, but so far he's been inconsistent.
