This move was expected, it clears up a 40 man roster spot.

The 60 day IL always baffled me. The 60 day IL allows a team to add an additional player to the 40 man roster. The tradeoff of course, is that the injured player is out for at least two months.

The 60 day IL always baffled me. It lasts for 60 days… 🤓 Good to see you here, Russ. We’ve had a population explosion here!…

He’ll be elgibile to comeback may 28th and they’re hoping early June. So this is 60 days from the date the Yankees announced this, and not the date of injury? Can they do that to include spring training games?

The silver lining on Cole getting injured is we may have discovered a gem in Luis Gil!
