Bregman jumps on a crushable sinker just below the waist, inner 3rd, and barely misses, hits a high fly to deep left center, but easy for Grisham. Inning over. Stroman got away with that pitch like a bandit. waist and in is Bregman's red hot zone. Top 4, 2-1 Astros. 20 pitches for Stroman in the 3rd, 52 through 3. He'll have to work to make it through 5 innings. We might see this Tully person tonight. As I don't watch spring training, I don't know what he throws. I haven't really seen Tully since he pitched at Ohio State. From what I saw then, average fastball, plus slider that we'd probably call a sweeper today, and a sinker. Pitches to contact, doesn't walk many.

Bounces a curve, gets away from Diaz halfway up the 3rd base line, and Wells moves up to 2nd on the wild pitch. 1-1 on Cabrera FB up in the zone, and Cabrera gives it a ride to fairly deep left center. Easy play for Dubon, but Wells smartly tags and moves to 3rd. A Yankee catcher moving up on a short wild pitch and getting to 3rd on a deep flyout? I didn't think that was allowed by league rules.

Wells with a risky tag there. I guess it pays to study the outfield arms.

Grisham does sometimes get hits, but don't expect it to be a regular occurrence.

Grisham takes a ball, then takes a strike I have no idea where it was because of Annoying Camera-Cam™ Catcher-Cam™ Fouls off a thigh high cutter near middle, 1-2 Wooooo Cutter up and in got the zone and was not called strike 3. Grisham got a big break there.
Splitter low, Grisham is early, popped near 2nd. Altuve catches, inning over.
Bottom 4, 2-1 Astros. 22 pitches in the 4th for Brown and 88 through 4. With the top of the order due in for its 3rd look at him, that might be it for him for tonight. In June, no, but in his first start, that might be all.

He’s not fast, unless add the “for a catcher” phrase, but he’s very alert and savvy on the bases… <especially for a catcher>…

Rangers lead is now 6-5 as it seems both teams have pulled their goalies in the 3rd period.

Diaz-Abreu-Pena for the Astros...
Diaz chases a cutter outside Lays off an even worse cutter, 1-1 3rd cutter outside, not close, not chased, 2-1 Sinker low, 3-1
Cutter outside, not close, ball 4. Leadoff BB. ruh-roh.
===================
I should point out that none of the three runs tonight are earned because of the errors by Cabrera and Pena.

4 point game for Alexis Lafrenière. He's finally starting to look somewhat like a #1 pick.

1-1 on Abreu, and he can't check on a good cutter moving just off the plate away, 1-2 Stays on that cutter off the plate away, but the fliner goes right to Soto for out #1.
