Change inside corner for a strike. Sinker outside corner, rolled over to Cabrera, throws him out, GAME OVER. YANKS WIN 5-2, to get to 5-0 on the season for the first time since the Benjamin Harrison administration Who had Victor Gonzalez in the "1st Yankee save not taken by Clay Holmes" pool?

3rd star of the game: the collective 3-man pen, holding the lead for 4 1/3, closing out the D'backs at home, allowing just one run. Yes, even lucky sonuvagun Weaver. 2nd star of the game: Gil who did very well in 4 2/3, especially working out of the jam in the 3rd 1st star of the game: Lauren has it; 4 hits, 2 runs and a RBI for Volpe. Basically the whole offense after the 4th.

OK, that'll do it for me for tonight. Game 2 tomorrow, starting at 9:40 on YES. Nestor Cortes, who got hit early by the Astros in his first start but hung on and survived 5 innings, and EARNED the no-decision when the Yanks rallied to win vs. Zac Gallen, who pitched 5 solid innings in season opener for the D'backs in the 16-1 nuking they laid on the Rockies, including that preposterous 14-run 3rd inning.
See you guys then. Good night to all!
YANKS ARE 5-0!!!
