Heads up folks, I am going to visit a friend in NYC tomorrow to Thursday and will miss the next two games (there is no game Thursday). Anthony will take care of the HR pictures.
I can't express enough how happy I am with all of our new posters (and old posters of course). Almost 400 posts on a late night west coast game thread! And the Yanks are 5-0! Sorry I won't be around the next two days. I will try to check in a little. See you Thursday night!

crashed during top of 6th (usual 1st chair in the morning). once again our "ragtag" bullpen comes through w only 1 run (first of the season) allowed in 4 2/3. for the season one run allowed in 19 2/3. somehow getting it done. 31 y/o burdi may be one of those cashman "where did he get this guy" moves that pay off.
very solid start for gil. has to be a confidence builder. if he commands, very tough to catch up to his stuff.
volpe definitely potg. talented, smart, determined kid who has made adjustments to his game that have paid off so far becoming the player maybe thought and hoped he could be.
no hits for soto but still 2 walks. every AB is must see. must be patient w judge.

I think they shouldve let Gil at least try to get the next batter in the bottom of the 5th ... to get himself a well desreved win

Nice win. I had to bail after 7 innings, I just can't stay up to finish these west coast games. Let's go for 6-0 tonight!

I thought he deserved one more hitter.

I missed the game, but another great win! I missed a lot of the game...had 2 Randy Johnson clones sitting in front of us who just couldn't sit still.

This is an example of why. And it’s not just young kids getting pulled at 4.2 innings, either…

Yeah...always a good time at the ballpark, especially when Yanks win. But simple baseball courtesy is a thing of the past...at least at Chase Field. Constant stream of people walking up and down the aisle blocking everyone's view, which is why I'll usually get 2nd level front row if available. Unfortunately not for these games. They do a pretty good job at Coors Field and other ballparks limiting aisle traffic to between half innings...but not Chase Field. Anyway...let's put another in the "W" column tonight.
