Acceptable start from Rodon...5.1IP, 7H, 2R. 2ER, 2BB, 3K, 2HR. Unfortunately he had minimal run support.

Rodon has been battling but something seems off ... he hasnt been getting many strikeouts and nothing comes easy He may have gone through the mid-career power pitcher crisis. He's trying to change, not throw all out every pitch and get deeper into games, like Cole does. He was throwing 93-4-5 a lot early in the game, But when in trouble, he humped up to 97-98 In the 5th and 6th, he was in trouble all the time, and threw everything he had, but he was running out of gas, kept flying open and missing up/away or both. |

I have a Roku in my computer room. I just turned it on. We have DirecTV on 3 TVs but I have the extra with the Roku.

FB 3-4 inches high called a strike. Barnhart didn't like it, and rightyly so.
Slider clips the tip of the high outside corner, 2-2
Hamilton better start getting the slide down, soon.
High slider should be ball four, but the two strikes just called forces a chases and a miss from Barnhart, K. 1 down

They also added a good lefty in Eduardo Rodriguez. When everyone is back, their rotation is formidable: Gallen, Kelly, Rodriguez, Montgomery and 2nd year man Brandon Pfaadt. Kelly, Rodriguez and Monty are solid #3 level starters, Gallen is a high level #2 or low level ace, and Pfaadt is potentially a solid #2 man. Their offense is lacking only in power, and could really use a Soto-type hitter to anchor it. Carroll MIGHT develop into that guy but he's not quite there yet. Maybe we could give them Stanton I think we've have to pay them by the pound to take him, like Got Junk? |
