JLo has good stuff but he just can't stay healthy and consistent. Time to move on.

Is it my imaginations, but hasn't Loaisiga been on the IL everyone of the seasons he has been on the Yankees??? He's been with the Yanks since 2018. Games Played are: 9, 15, 12, 57, 50, 17 and 3. In 7 years he has pitched 219 innings . As I mentioned in the injury thread, he was a young promising pitcher who the Giants released after he missed consecutive seasons with arm issues. He will be 30 years old soon and it's hard to imagine he will ever become a pitcher who can consistently answer the bell.

MLB Trade Rumors: Jonathan Loaisiga first felt discomfort in his elbow near the end of his most recent outing on Wednesday, manager Aaron Boone explained to the Yankees beat this morning (X link via Greg Joyce of the New York Post). He called the injury “concerning,” noting that an MRI conducted last night revealed a “significant” strain. Loaisiga and the team are gathering more information on the injury and will determine next steps for the right-hander once they’ve received additional opinions.
If Loaisiga’s absence extends further than that 60-day minimum, it’s feasible this could spell the end of his time in the Bronx entirely. The right-hander has five-plus years of major league service time and is slated to become a free agent at season’s end.

Very disappointing since he's a talented pitcher. I feel bad for the guy.

The strains that pitchers put on their arms today are not sustainable. I don't know if anything can be done about it but it is huritngboth individual players and the sport.

The Yankees should have held on to Chad Green.

All the injured projects Cashman has brought in and failed and Chad Green still playing.

From MLB Rumors 4/6/24 Jonathan Loaisigna out for the 2024 Season: Torn UCL
Yankees reliever Jonathan Loaisiga revealed to reporters (including MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch) that he will need surgery to repair a torn UCL. The procedure isn’t a Tommy John surgery so it comes with a shorter recovery timeline of 10-12 months, but Loaisiga will obviously still miss the rest of the 2024 season.
New York already has placed Loaisiga on the 60-day injured list yesterday with what was described as a right flexor strain, and the fact that the right-hander was immediately sent to the 60-day IL was an ominous hint that he might be facing a particularly serious injury. His 2024 campaign will now unfortunately come to an end after only three games and four scoreless innings.
