Nestor goes back out for the 8th, hits one deep toward the corner in right, but Soto tracks it down, 1 out.

A "Wrecking Crew" studio song. It was actually re-released in 1975. Originally the song was released on the Samuel Johns's debut album in 1973. (Wikipedia, not from memory, btw) Yep. But I don't think it was a hit until the re-release. There's always a good chance any song from that era had The Wrecking Crew doing the instrumental track. Our YES board members are getting to see how the blowout games can become kind of free form around here. I must defer to you, as I am sure you are correct. That would have made me ten years old hearing radio play. I was a romantic very early.

Yep, that was from early 75. Other songs around that time were "Kung Fu Fighting" and Bungle In The Jungle" and "Junior's Farm" and "Dark Horse" and "Pick Up The Pieces." He never had another hit song. "Junior's Farm" was an underrated McCartney song. Yeah, although generally I didn't like a lot of his post-Beatles output. He had one in the early 90s called "Fade To Black" that I really liked. I actually like "Kung Fu Fighting." Those cats were fast as lightning.

Rivera falls behind 0-2, then looks silly chasing a very low changeup on the outside corner, almost bounced. K, 2 down.

Eight (8) shutout innings from Nestor! The best performance from a Yankee starter this season. Nasty is back! Only 102 pitches and 2 hits, no walks, and 6 Ks.

Cutter up and in at 85(!), still ties up Brujan a bit, and his fly toward the corner in left is an easy play for Verdugo, inning over. Nestor through 8 at 102 pitches. That oughta be enough, this guy had shoulder problems last year, Boone.

Verdugo hits a dribbler down 3rd, fielded by Rivera, but Verdugo beats the throw for an infield hit.
