Verdugo up. He didn't face Smith yesterday.

stanton thrown out at 2nd trying to stretch it. ouch that musta hurt laureano's wrist. That reminds me of Matsui breaking his wrist in left field. |

FB up and in, Vedugo is on time but it jams him some, and the flyball to left center is an easy play for Freeman. Inning over.
Bottom 6, 4-4. Smith at 8 pitches, so the Guardians can leave him in for another, but don't have to.
Gimenez, Hedges and Arias for the Guardians in the 2nd, presumably vs. Burdi.

Gonzalez does the job with a couple long fly balls corralled by Soto, who just seems to always be having fun playing baseball.

1-2 on Rocchio, gets a FB in the zone, thigh high outer 3rd, drives it to deep right center, but Soto goes back to the track and hauls it in. 2 down.
Arias jumps on a 1st pitch FB, hits it hard to deep right, but again, Soto gets the jump, and catches it on the track to end the inning.
Definition of 'warning-track power' there, both balls were at least 340 feet, but were not HRs in any MLB park.
Yes, that includes the Porch at Yankee Stadium, Smoltz.

being a guitar player myself, that type of injury is very painful to look at.

2-0 FB up and in, is lined hard down 3rd, but right to Ramirez, 1 down. 105 mph on that line shot.

3-1 FB waist high outside corner, slapped to the left of Gimenez for a single to right with 2 outs.
Soto up, and as Barlow's faced his three batters, they won't risk leaving him in to face Soto.
