Sinker down and in, Kwan is on it and hits it sharply, but right to Rizzo, who fields (yay) and takes it to the bag, 1 down.
Boone goes to lift Gonzalez. Luke Weaver coming in to face Freeman or a PH, then Ramirez.

Weaver working on 3 days' rest...Freddie Freeman is 4-17 against him, but this Freeman has never faced Weaver before.

FB misses just outside by an inch or two 97, and waist high, but Trevino gets the gift call for the ꓘ. Weaver catches a break there.

1-1 so far...
Cutter in ties him up, his liner up the middle is tipped by Weaver going by, it one hops to Volpe behind 2nd, his low throw is handled by Rizzo (yay) to end the inning.
Top 8, 4-4.
All four other teams in the East are leading their games now so if the Yanks can't rally for the win, they'll undo much of what they accomplished yesterday.

Gets a slider in the zone near the middle of the box, pops to center, easy play for Freeman, 1 down.
