Mis-located slurve hangs thigh high inside third, but Turner takes it, 0-1 Sinker outside, 1-1 Sinker backs over the outside corner, Turner fouls it off, 1-2. Sinker tails right into the top of the zone away, but Wells had to move the mitt, so the ump blew that call, 2-2. Fouls off a sinker outside. Splitter low away, 3-2. That missed call on 1-2 might take the Yanks out of this game. Sinker dribbled to the left of the mound, Stroman right on it, but Bichette has the good jump, so Stroman takes an extra beat on the look to 3rd, then turns and throws to 1st, 1 down.
With Bichette on 3rd, 1 out, Biggo due up in a 2-1 game, and Stroman at 99 pitches, Boone brings in Ferguson to try to hold the game here. Immdiately, manager Schneirder counters with the righty hitting Clement, who's been a pain in the neck to the Yanks in 5 games this season.

FB up and in fouled off. Fouls off another, 0-2. Clement has faced Ferguson twice, and hit the HR they just showed. Elevates the FB above the outside corner, and Clement chases for the K, 2 down. Schneider up, he's 0-1 vs. Ferguson.

Can someone explain why Wells is setting up at least a foot outside of the plate??? So he can catch Stroman’s pitches that are out there with a motion leading in toward the plate to frame them. It’s to accommodate Stroman’s pitching style…

Misses a sinker low and away, 0-1 FB clips the outside corner, barely, 0-2 FB about 5-6 inches outside, taken. 1-2 Cutter inside, 2-2. FB up and away, and Schneider nearly gets it, the flyball to deep left center dies on the track, Judge catches, inning over. WHEW.
Top 7, 2-1 Jays. Bottom of the order: Verdugo, Cabrera and Wells, Genesis Cabrera in for the Jays.

Verdugo 0-2 vs. Cabrera with a K but also 3 BB FB up and in. Cutter to the top of the zone, 1-1

Always try a bunt when the catcher is fat… 🤓

Cabrera is a 3 pitch lefty: FB at 94-5 about 40%, slider at 87, about 35% (maybe the cutter on the YES cast) and change at 78 about 25%
Verdugo bunts foul, the chases a cutter low for the K, 1 down.

Cabrera is 1-2 with a RBI single. Takes a FB for a strike, then smacks a curve inside through the 56 hole for a one out single, so now he's 2-3 vs. Cabrera

Wells misses a FB inside, then takes a cutter low, 1-1 Cutter just outside, 2-1
Wells has faced Cabrera once, and K'd.

Beats him clean with a FB up and in at 96, but in the zone. He can't hit that one. Gives him another a bit lower on the corner inside, and he spoils it. Cutter on the inside corner, thigh high, and Wells hits sharply, but right to Guerrero, who turns a 3-3-6 DP rather easily. Inning over.
Bottom 7, 2-1 Jays.

Can someone explain why Wells is setting up at least a foot outside of the plate??? Flats explained that earlier: to try to emphasize location. Yanks are behind in this game because Stroman was trying to hit inside corner with a sinker to Varsho and it tailed out over the plate down the middle, and Varsho belted it out.
