Chases a sinker outside, 0-1 Takes another one, 1-1, Slider misses two feet outside, 2-1 on Kirk. Sinker tails into the zone down and away, Kirk takes a huge hack but misses, fouls it off, 2-2 Sinker away is spoiled. Kirk is very hard to trick because he's excellent at making contact. Kirk uses his timeout

As I said the last time he pitched, Stroman is a gamer

FB at the top, Kirk takes a big swing, hits a high fly to medium deep right center, Judge is there, inning over. 14 pitch 1-2-3 for Stroman, and 73 through 4. They're still in the game, if the offense can figure something out, or if Gausman tires.
Cabrera, Wells and Volpe for the Yanks.

What the heck is Torres swinging at? Plate discipline for this team is horrid. If you mean the splitter and FB way inside, yeah. The last FB was in the zone. 2 of the 9 pitches were in the zone. Some were like a foot off the plate. It’s not just Torres, but the entire team, except for Soto is not working the count.

The Yankees' starter is the only Stroman in MLB history. There have 24 other MLB players with the first name Marcus.

FB near outside corner, 0-1 FB inside brushes him back, 1-1 on Cabrera. Splitter low, 2-1 Gausman FB down to 92-3 at the moment Splitter stays near the knees, but Cabrera pulls it foul. 2-2.

Fb in the zone up and away at 94 fouled off. He's definitely lost some velo off the FB but not enough. FB near middle at 95, but Cabrera late and under fouls it off. Barely checks in time on a splitter diving outside, 3-2 Making him work again. Splitter diving outside corner, Cabrera swings late taps it foul near home. 8th pitch of the at bat coming. Spliter in the zone down and in is a MISTAKE and Cabrera drops the bat on it, breaking the bat, it lands in the corner for a leadoff double Great job there by Cabrera

Paradox: Yanks must work count and tire out Gausman but must strike quickly here before they bring in Williams and his killer changeup.

Cabrera delivered a lead off double. Now let's get him home.

FB in a crushable spot down and in, fouled off. Wells misses a cookie FB taken down the middle, 0-2 FB away at 97!! as Gausman empties the tank, fouled off. Splitter bounced, but Kirk blocks it. 1-2. Kirk has something in his eye, and the trainer comes out to take a look.

wooooooo... More bad luck for Wells, Splitter away, and he times it, hits a looping liner right to Bichette, Cabrera freezes and barely ducks under Bichette's tag attempt to double him off. Bad luck there for the Yanks.
