Diaz chases a slider that was way low, taps it to Cabrera, who cuts across to field, throws him out as Caballero get to 2nd with 2 down.

It hasn't always been easy but Schmidt throws 5 scoreless so far.

Slider misses down and in, 1-0 Slider backs up inside, 2-0 Slider down the middle, 2-1 on Arozarena, as Caballero steals 3rd with 2 down. Sinker down the middle, and Arozarena is late, fouls it off. No chance curve bounced way outside, 3-2. Cutter above the zone fouled straight back.
It's amazing, but even though he has 4 2/3 scoreless innings tonight, I haven't felt "safe" the entire game. Cutter rolled over to Volpe is the 3rd out.
Make that 5 scoreless innings.19 pitches for Schmidt in the 5th, and 93 through 5 Boone might send out Schmidt to start the 6th, but the probability of him finishing the 6th is just about 0.
