FB was SUPPOSED to be inside, but he missed right down the middle, and a hitter with real power would've made Schmidt pay big-time. And the announcers are right, that ball flies out in June or July or August. Judge chases it down on the track, 2 down.

Schmidt living dangerously with the meatballs that inning but Rays aren't able to capitalize.

Mead gets and 0-1 cutter into the top outside corner and goes with it to deep right center, this one hit a bit sharper than Rosarios' but closer to Judge, so he's able to run this one down on the track to end the inning.
Jays made good contact multiple times that inning, so they're starting to get a bead on Schmidt.
Bottom 4, 0-0 17 pitches for Schmidt in the 4th, 74 through 4.

1-1 on Stanton is a cutter down the middle that he doesn't recognize, takes it, 1-2 Fb in the zone up and away, Stanton a bit late, fouls it hard off 1st Cutter up and in straightens Stanton up. Change outside, and Stanton reaches and fouls. If that had been below the zone instead of thigh-high it's an easy K. FB up and in, Stanton fouls it back. Sinker waist high inner 3rd, hit hard toward the 56 hole, Caballero dives to his backhand, gets up, has plenty of time, and throws Stanton out by plenty.

Rizzo fouls off the 1st pitch sinker waist high, inner 3rd Chases a slider low and pulls it foul, 0-2. 2nd pitch this at bat was outer 3rd, not inside, Jeff. FB above the zone 4-5 inches, Rizzo chases and pops to Diaz off of 1st, 2 down.

Big breaking curve into the op of the zone in the middle, 0-1 on Torres. Change hits the outside corner waist high, 0-2. Rays do this with good pitches, never mind a career mediocrity like Alexander. They change the pitch mix, change his locations, and turn a bum into a pitcher. FB at the top fouled back, 1-2.

Cutter right....down...the...middle somehow fools Gleyber and missed it for the K to end the inning. Yanks go quickly and quietly in the 4th, 1-2-3 on 10 pitches, and Alexander is at 61 through 4.
Top 5, 0-0.
Schmidt getting slowly worse, and Alexander is getting better.

For some reason I was expecting a big game from Gleyber today. Wrong!

Cutter outside, 1-0 Cutter at the top swung under, 1-1 Slider backs up inside, 2-1 Curve well outside 3-1. Cutter probably missed outside but Trevino steals the call, 3-2 Watch out here.

That's got to be caught, Volpe.

Cutter low and away, hit hard with a lot of hook, and Volpe slides down, and somehow loses it, goes off his glove, scored a single for some reason.
