April will soon be in the rear view mirror. Gleyber is sitting on a .189/.288/.211 slash. He's striking out at a career high rate. His defense and base running are as error prone as ever. He's worth a -0.3 bWAR.
What happened? It can't be due to age, he just turned 27 and should be in the start of his prime.
Can't be motivation / lack of preparation, can it? He's going to be a FA and should be as motivated as any player to have a big season. This is not like 2020 where he thought he might not play and then showed up out of shape.
Could it be the new hitting coaches? Is his vision starting to fail him? Is this going to be a Tim Anderson like fall?
How did he contract Gleybies and is it too late for a cure? At what point does he start riding some pine?
