So...I see things are going swimmingly tonight. Throwaway a sac bunt. Torres with not one, but two TOOTBLANS. 1 for 9 with RISP. Oh, and yeah, the A's starter that got hit in all four of his starts this season before this, and the Yanks refuse to hit him. On their way to splitting with the A's, with Miller ready to blow it by them again in the 9th. The Falcons' pick is in and they take Penix, Jr. Wow! Some had Penix as late as the 2nd round.

Chicago will probably take Odunze here and the Jets can get McCarthy without having to trade up.

A's take out Erceg and bring in the lefty, TJ McFarland, with Miller throwing behind him.
Yanks have until Verdugo to get the game tied up.
1-2 sinker misses the outside corner but Hudson calls it strike 3 anyway. 0% on Gameday, 1-2 inches outside. 1 down

You would think that with electronic umpiring on the horizon the umpiring would be improving, but then you might have expected that with with replays and challenges… nothing seems to phase those guys…

I said I might get back in time to see the end of the game and I did, so I thought I'd join you for the probable miserable finish. Torres grounds an 0-2 sinker thigh high outer half for a single up the middle. Verdugo is the tying run, last chance to strike before Miller gets into it. ...and he pops to left for out #2. And here comes Miller to pitch to Trevino, who should have no shot against Miller. The only thing accomplished is that they've gotten Soto another swing in the 9th. But if they're still down 2, the best he can do is make it a 1 run game, unless someone can get on in front of him. |
