We’re 0-5 in games when we’ve been shut out… bummer, bumper… We're 19-6 when we score runs!
And 2-0 when we score 15 or more runs…

The boys have some work to do if they're going to split. Let’s do it. Just need to start hitting again, especially Judge. I was pissed off when they wouldn’t play him in ST. Now I wonder if he’s still injured… Baseball is a weird game, and it seems Cash and Boone make it it weirder…

Interesting series summary Yanks: 6 runs, 22 hits Orioles: 13 runs, 24 hits
Look like Baltimore was almost twice as productive as the Yankees... Not a good first series...

Interesting series summary Yanks: 6 runs, 22 hits Orioles: 13 runs, 24 hits Look like Baltimore was almost twice as productive as the Yankees... Not a good first series... Baltimore's pitching is very good, but not this good, or they'd do it to every team in the league, every series. Ironically, the one pitcher the Yanks beat was the O's best pitcher, Burnes. Even if they were a bit lucky to do so. The good news, if any can be found in this series, is that the Yankees' staff without Cole held one of the best lineups in MLB to just 13 runs in 4 games, and in those 13 runs, the Yankees defense committed errors/mental mistakes to help them score at least 4 or 5 of them: Volpe's error in the 8th inning Monday handed the O's their 2nd run in the 2-0 loss...an error helped them score one of their runs in the 4-2 loss on Tuesday, and Torres' dropped throw led directly to an unearned run in the 4 run 5th that put the game out of reach yesterday, may have pulled the plug on Rodon so he just ran out of gas and grooved the pitch Westburg belted for the 2 run triple that followed. Admittedly, that's just 2 unearned runs, but the Orioles didn't make a single mistake in the entire series that led to any Yankees' runs. 5 of their 6 runs in this series came directly off of HR, 3 of them solo HRs, and the last run was Rizzo's flare single scoring Volpe after a double in the 3rd inning yesterday. It's just one series, but the O's won the scouting/execution battle hands down. Yanks are going to have to be a lot better to stay within 5 games of them by season's end.
