Tyler Austin looks like he has one foot already in Scranton. Since Walker can play first base, it doesn't make sense to have Austin on this team over Frazier. Bring up Frazier! Send down Austin!

Let Austin do his imitation of a blue whale eating krill while batting in Scranton...He is in pretty deep right now, so I think he has finally been exposed. He needs to go down to the farm to work the issue out. Plus, yes. I has to be him or Walker at this point. Are you sure you want Frazier up and not Torreyes? The choices on this team are maddening...If you want Frazier up, just wait a little while for Hicks to go back on the dis-Ellsburyed-list...Then bring him up... (:

(: Definitely Frazier over Torreyes. I like Torreyes. But not that much! Only dome likes him that much.

I, too, have an affinity for players who can hit .300 against major league pitching. Don't understand the disrespect Torreyes gets on this board.

I think it's overkill to have 8 relievers in the bullpen, go back to the 12 man pitching staff.

Then if he continues to be uninspiring (only had the one good week), DFA Walker and recall Drury or Toe. Im still trying to figure out how to get Frazier, Drury, and Torreyes all on the roster at once.

Just keep punching singles and run into a gapper every once in a while. A ton of value in that when you are so good defensively.

Yankees 1.5 3. Red Sox 1.4 4. Cubbies 1.3 5. Braves 1.2 No other team has an SRS above 1.0 (SRS = run diff + SOS; measures how much better or worse team is than the average team)

How the hell do Cervelli and Murphy have OPS's of over .900? Crazy.

Another testament to what was being said on the old site about the wealth of catching the Yanks had down on the farm a few seasons back...But also a bit of a testament to small samples as well. It's still early in the season, 2/3 of the way to go. It's going to get hot, and players will begin to wilt in the heat...Murphy has only had 75 AB, Romine has only had 53 AB. Cervelli's 7 HR are tied for his career single season high already. Will he keep hitting them? Wasn't he suspected of dabbling in some questionable substances in the past?
Romine is interesting. I always knew he could hit, and always said he could start somewhere. I was hoping we'd trade him this past off season so we could promote Higashioka because I felt that Romine was not tapping into his talent because he was swinging at everything. If he continues to be selective, and play to his strength of hitting to ALL fields, he's a potential .300 hitter as a starter somewhere... He showed that ability in MiLB, but just could never get the plate discipline issue solved...He's also shown some strength this year...wasn't the HR he hit to LCF around 430 feet or so?
As for Higgy, he's struggled at the plate in AAA this season at .200/.267/.341. Yeah. I guess that would have been a mistake to trade Romine for that guy, huh???
