when i got home from skiing, bottom of the 5th, saw the score (7-1), turned the game off and went out to work in the garden. planted lettuces, spinach, peas and green beans. much more productive than watching that debacle.

Those that know me won’t be horribly surprised that I don’t plant vegetables, but I am anxiously awaiting the days when our night time lows stop dropping under freezing so I can pop a few flowers in the ground…

I planted thyme and oregano outdoors today. Outdoor temperature has to consistently rise above 50 degrees during the evening hours to move my basil outside. Been hardening my various pepper seedlings. Hopefully I can plant them outdoors in a weeks time. I aim for days near mother's day to move all my seedlings outdoors. Downsizing my gardening this season. Will just aim on herbs and peppers. Sounds like a diverse garden you have created.

Sounds like a bumper crop! I love vegetable gardening although I haven't done it in awhile. That Burpee Seed Catalog would come in late January and the fantasy planting schemes would begin. I always started with watercress because you could plant it early and in a week or so you had results. Radishes too because you had something to show for your work in no time. Nothing like baby carrots or potatoes when they go straight from the ground to the kitchen. I don't miss the Elmer Fudd battles with rabbits (and deer and squirrels and crows. )

back on topic ... only the phillies have more wins (21). we're tied w a number of teams a 20. yet after the hot start (10-2), we've barely been break even (10-11). a troubling trend. losing 3 of 4 to the O's not good. at this point, they look like the better team.
pitching overall has been been good. probably the reason our record isn't worse. the offense has been sputtering for sure, not hitting on all cylinders and too many games not hitting on any cylinders. judge has been in the middle of that. but it's only a matter of time. the only constant has been soto. torres finally hitting a HR hopefully will get him going. hopefully we get things going this home stand.

Missed game, played golf, glad I did. We need details, man. Don’t tease us with the basic facts. Numbers! Memorable shots, the Eagle you should have made, final score vs. your expected score. Do you do mulligans? If you do mulligans, don’t bother with above queries, they’re all fictional… 🤓 Since my round wasn't very memorable (e.g. I kinda sucked), I'll talk about my buddy. He's a high handicapper who broke 80 for the first time. He had 3 birdies and was under par on the front. Hung on to shoot 79 after starting the back with back to back triples. It was fun to watch him do this. The guys I play with are fun but also serious. No mulligans and have just recently started conceding putts if they are inside the leather.

Well, I predicted 88 wins and a wildcard spot. After 30 games I'm holding with that prediction.

Bumper, sounds like even though you have taken a similar path, you are a much better farmer than Oliver Douglas.

I’d have to wait until the middle of July for consistent 50’s at night… 😂 We’re classified as zone 5b, but the people that do those classifications need to move here for a year…
