I was listening to Stanton's interview after the Detroit game. He said that "he wanted to get the ball in the air, to avoid the DP". Got me thinking that there must be pressure on everyone to NOT hit into a DP since it has happened so many times. If pitchers (opponents) sense that a hitter is worried about a DP, they will keep the pitched ball down. The hitter will probably have an upper swing to try a lift the ball, more often topping the ball and hitting it into the ground. I think I can definitely see that with Judge who I think leads the team in DPs. I am sure this team is well aware of the DP problem.

Its gotten ridiculous. Leading the MLB in double plays and Judge with 10 already. Maybe they flip Judge and Soto in the order to avoid them.

It's frustrating but it's Yankee baseball. Wait until DJ is back and we have another slow runner with napping injuries on base.
