Last night's scores and today's previews lead right into the The Sunday Standings™ (Before the start of play today, Sunday, May 5th):
Coming into today's games, the O's have the best record in the AL at 22-11, and still lead the Yanks by 1 game, the Sox have dropped back to 3 1/2 behind of the Yanks and 4 1/2 out of 1st, and the Rays and Jays are still tied for 4th-5th, 5 1/2 back of the Yanks and 6 1/2 out of 1st.
I'll do the standings in the other divisions in the first few innings of the game thread.

The Tigers have shuffled their lineup considerably for game 3. Ibanez and Vierling at the top, Greene dropped from leadoff to 4th
Rogers hits 5th
1st pitch is a FB outside, 1-0

Cutter misses inside, 3-0
FB outside middle, 3-1
FB outside corner fouled off 3-2.
Backdoor cutter to the high outside corner, swung on and missed, K
Cortes comes back from 3-0 to whiff Ibanez.

Slider misses outside, called a strike anyway, bad call, missed by 3 inches.
Fb in the zone thigh high, middle out, 0-2
FB well high, 1-2
Cutter high, 2-2 on Vierling
Cutter down and in ties him up a it, he pops foul near the Yankee dugout, Cabrera gets over, then comes back toward the infield a couple of steps and catches, 2 down.

Let's hope Bertie does something today because I don't see the need to force hi in the lineup with an off day tomorrow.

guess they wanna work recently activated berti in and go w their righty lineup but i woulda played rizzo who's on fire over cabrera, even though ocab switches around to the other side.

Cutter winds up in a bad spot, just above middle middle, but Canha misses under for the K. Inning over.
Bottom 1, 0-0.
Cortes has a 1-2-3 1st, 2 K's and a foul pop out, but needs to use 18 pitches to get through it.
The Standings continue:
In the AL Central, the Guardians had a poor week, going 2-4, while the Twins were winning everything in sigh. Meanwhile the Twins won all 6 games this week, have now won 12 in a row and have cut the Guardians lead from 5 1/2 to just 1 1/2 games. The Royals went 3-3 and are now tied with the Twins for 2nd, 1 1/2 back of the Guardians (the Twins are ahead by percentage points) The Tigers have gone 2-3 this week to fall into 4th, 3 games over, 1 1/2 behind the Royals and Twins and 3 games out of 1st. After sweeping the Rays last weekend, the White Sox remembered they were the White Sox and dropped 4 of 5 this weak. They once again have the worst record in baseball at 7-26, on pace to lose a preposterous 128 games. They're already 11 games out of 4th, and 14 out of 1st.

Volpe takes a ball, then gets a low FB outside middle, and does the smart thing, goes with it to deep right center, but Vierling makes a backhand grab on the move on the track, 1 down.
