Slider well low/away, taken 2-2
This guy has a hide the ball motion a bit similar to Sid Fernandez' it seems to me.
Slider up and in, Rizzo spins but doesn't get out of the way, his him on the front arm above the elbow. 1st and 2nd, 1 out.

Stanton PH for Wells, but unfortunately, Speier has already faced three batters, which allows the M's to bring the righty Thornton to face Stanton.

Stanton is 2-4 vs. Thornton with a 3 run HR and a BB.
But historically, he's an abysmal pinch-hitter.
Thornton a kitchen sink righty, FB 94-5, slider 82, cutter 90, curve 81, change 88.
