I guess I’m back again for the first time. Right after I got myself awake my brother called to be maudlin about the passing of our sister in law, so I was watching with the sound muted. A lot of teams seem be getting these hard throwing relievers with the thick bodies and doofus faces now…where’s ours?… We get one tomorrow.

Verdugo falls behind 0-2, then hits a hard smash to Moore, who fields the short hop throws him out, 1 down. Rizzo take a FB low, then grounds another one to Moore, 2 down.

Trevino takes a ball, then pulls a FB through the right side for a 2 out hit. And no, Todd, Trevino wasn't pinch hitting, he came in for Wells after Stanton pinch hit for him in the 7th.

Slider bounced outside, ball 1 to Gleyber. My internet crashed on me for a minute there, but I'm all caught up.
Slider low, 2-0 FB above middle, fouled off to the left side. I'd ask why are you swinging at all on 2-0 down by 3, but it almost certainly won't matter. FB at the top, in the middle swung under 2-2 Slider well outside, 3-2.

Sinker 99 is low as Munoz stumbles on delivery, Torres checks in time ball 4. Tying run comes to the plate in Cabrera Not sure he can catch up to Munoz FB even sitting dead red, Todd. Swings over the slider on the low inside corner, 0-1 Slider low in the middle, chased and fouled, 0-2

Oswaldo pretty much gets himself out to end the game.

Fb at the top outside corner, spoiled. 100 mph.
Too many ways to K him here in this situation. And that's just one of them... Slider dives below the knees in the middle, Cabrera has to start early against the possibility of 100 mph, swings over it for the K, game over.

That was a stupid stupid play by Volpe... And it was right in front of him... One post. Can only imagine had that play been the other way around...

really never seemed to be in this one as the offense took the night off as woo had his way with us. bullpen flat out didn't get it done. tonight there were many guilty parties. again not sure why andrews was in the game. hope he enjoys the ride back to scranton tomorrow.
schmidt labored but was done in by one bad pitch.
torres 3 run bomb was the entire offense as we scratched out a measly 5 hits.
now we're playing for the split.

Yanks lose their 2nd straight, 6-3 and fall back to 16 over .500 at 33-17. Now need to beat both Bryse Miller and Luis Castillo to avoid losing a series for the first time in 3 weeks.
Game 3 of this series is tomorrow at 7:07, unfortunately the Prime Delayed Video Lame of the Week, so I'll have to deal with the usual 2-4 pitch delay off of Gameday. The Mariners roll out another good young starter, Bryse Miller, 3-4 with a 3.08 ERA in 9 starts. Yanks will send Nestor Cortes out there to try to avoid a 3 game losing streak. He makes his 2nd straight start at home, where he's pitch vastly better so far this season (ERA under 2 in 5 starts). On the season, Nestor is 2-4 with a 3.56 ERA in 10 starts on the season.
OK, going to check notifications now.

I don't think Cabrera swung at one strike 1st pitch slider down and in was a 25% strike on statcast K zone, but marginal on Gameday. The 0-2 FB up and away was an 80% strike on both zones, Cabrera fouled that one off.

Never felt like we were in this one. On to the next one. Hopefully the bats have some pent up aggression.
