The Pirates just blew Skene's lead.

Gaylord Perry for the name that Yankee, I'm pretty sure. I have that 1981 Topps Gaylord Perry ball card, his only one with the Yanks.

Gonzlez stays in a bit longer.
Rojas... Sinker low, 1-0 Swings over a change outside, 1-1 Takes his timeout Sinker inside, 2-1 Slider in a bad spot, thigh high middle, but fouled, 2-2 Perfectly located sinker down and in at 95, and Rojas guesses cutter or slider by count and location, takes it for strike 3. ꓘ, 1 down.

Victor pitched better when the game was close.

My mistake, that was Urias pinch hitter for Rojas.
France... Slider more or less down the middle, 0-1 Sinker low on the corner inside, 1-1 Slider zoomes inside, chasing France till it hits him near the front elbown, HBP. Man on 1st, 1 out, Zavala or a PH coming up, Burdi coming in. Might be Raleigh here, not sure.

Gaylord Perry for the name that Yankee, I'm pretty sure. Master of the spitter! And also the fake spitter, messing with hitters' minds. He used to drive Bobby Murcer crazy with that stuff.

FB waist high, ball 1 to Oswaldo. Tries to golf the FB in the drop the bat happy zone, but rolls it over to Moore, who throws him out to 3nd the inning. Yanks get 3 much needed insurance runs, and lead 5-0, going top 8. Burdi coming in to pitch, he'll face the M's 7-8-9 guys, Rojas, France and Zavala. I like Burdi… after all those years (eight?) and only 19.1 innings, I have to root for the guy…

The Pirates just blew Skene's lead. He’s going to have to get used to that. He didn’t have his best stuff, only three strikeouts and only four fastballs over 100 mph.

Zavala bats for himself down 5. FB high from Burdi, 1-0 Slider to the inside corner taken, 1-1 Slider well outside, 2-1 Chases a waist high FB at 97 about 3 inches outside, misses, 2-2 FB yanked well outside near the bottom, 3-2

Same FB same result, ball 4 Bad, stupid pitching by Burdi. Must challege against the #9 hitter/backup catcher in that spot, up by 5. Holmes getting loose.

Thigh high slider inside middle, taken for strike 1 Backdoor slider hits the corner away, waist high, taken, 0-2 Fb zooms up and away, chases it for the K, 2 down.
