OK, now that the Rangers are over, I'll be able to keep full attention on the Yanks.
FB outside, 1-0 on Soto.
Fb outside, 2-0
Slider into the zone down and away, 2-1
Slider starts at him, makes him dive out, then breaks over the middle, but about a foot high, 3-1
Soto takes his timeout, then a sinker on the inside corner, 3-2
Soto tries to con the ump by walking to 1st, chas to come back. Not close really, definitely a strike
Slider in the zone and up, hammeered down the right side, but foul
Fb below middle middle, fouled off.

Sinker about 4-5 below the zone, near middle, ball 4. Soto walks with 1 down.
Sandoval at 92 pitches after the 8 pitch walk.

Fb inside middle, Judge hits it down the line in right, it slices foul, but Adell somehow overruns it and it falls just foul behind Adell, 0-1
Change waist high, inner 3rd, fools Judge, takes it, 0-2
Judge gets a big break, FB into the high outside corner, Judge starts and checks but it should've been a called strike 3 anyeay. 75% strike at Gameday. Sandoval yelling at the ump and he's right, so Washington goes out to protect his pitcher.

Moscoso yelling to Sandoval, who was questioning the location of the pitch. Sandoval says "that's not up", Moscoso says "I had it up". Cooler heads prevail.

Great change dives to the knees outer half, and Judge is way over it for the K, 2 down.

Stanton, change well up and away 1-0
Change into the top of the zone, 1-1
Slider dives inside middle, but Stanton misses it clean, 1-2
Throw over on Soto.
FB above the zone by 2-3 inches, Stanton swings late but spoils.
Spikes a change in front of home, bounces well in front of O'Hoppe, which allows Soto to go to 2nd on the WP.
Slider hangs near middle, and Stanton nails it, but the liner goes right to Adell in right to end the inning.
Bottom 6, 2-1 Yanks.
23 pitches for Sandoval in the 6th, and he's likely finished for the night at 102 pitches.
Tucker, Paris, and back to the top for Schnauel for the Angels in their 6th.

Hey, nw, good to see you in the thread! What did you think of the interference call on Soto last night? I was out at my wife's police department awards dinner but I did see the replay. It's 100% the correct call. Yeah, that's what I thought. Unfortunate for Soto, but he did move and there was contact, and Neto didn't catch it. They call that every time. |
