Appears as though there is to be light rain for about 45-50 minutes, flowed by heavy rain. It would behoove to play through as long as possible…

Slider on the corner away, taken for a strike by Martinez.
FB outside, and his velo is down to 95 just about every time he throws it now.
Nimmo with a huge breaqk, but Martinez pops up a hanging slider in back of 3rd, Verdugo comes in and over, catches, 1 down.

Change on the outer half. Velo is down on the change as well, just 88-89 now.
That change was 95? and it missed outside, but called a strike anyway, good break for Gil, 1-2
Throw over.
Change misses inside at 90.
Velo on both change and FB are down 2-3 mph from earlier
Fb overthrown high at 94, 3-2

Completely loses a slider up and in and knocks down Alonso.
Boone has to take out Gil here.
And he does.

Gil's night over at 87 pitches, 3 runs in, 4 1/3 innings, 4 hits, 3 runs so far, 1 HR, 4 BB, 2 hit batters and just 2 K's. He got just 6 swings and misses.
He made an adjustment, throwing more sliders than usual. It didn't really work. They're going to have to teach him a cutter or a sinker and soon.

Ferguson misses with a backdoor slurve, 1-0 on Alvarez
Back leg slurve, bounced, hits Trevino on the shoulder, barely controls it, preventing a wild pitch, 2-0
Fb at the top, basically the same pitch he HRed on off Gil, but 5 mph slower and he pulls off it, 2-1
Takes his timeout.
Fb up and away, Soto caught playing toward the gap, the fly ball goes deep into the corner in right for a double, scores, NImmo, Alonso to 3rd, 2nd and 3rd, 1 down, 4-0 Mets.

XBA on that double was .080, but maybe Soto was playing too shallow and toward right center. |
