i'm starting to think they should just forget about the trade deadline and just hold on to their young players. And Dominquez should be off limits. If they can get a power reliever for some decent prospects, I'm still in favor of that. But I don't think the corner infielders they desperately need are available. |

Yeah they ran out of steam for sure at the end. Cashing the checks. Sort of trailed off after the horrific death of their brilliant guitarist, Terry Kath. Definitely changed the trajectory. They lost a lot of the edge without him. |

FB inside corner, Taylor blocks it off with a choppy swing, hits a flare just over Torres into right center for a hit, run scores, 6-2 Mets.
Some guys, even mediocre hitters, just own some pitchers, even great ones.

Sinker above middle, misses late and under, pops to short right center, Soto comes in and across to his left sate, catches, inning over. Mets tack on another, lead 6-2, going bottom 6.
6-7-8 for the Yanks: verdugo, Davis and 5-3 LeMahieu. Or is 5-4-3 LeMahieu?

Sinker waist high, inside, ties him up a bit, he inside outs a flare to left center, but Taylor appears on the dead run to make a diving backhand catch to steal a hit from Verdugo. 1 down.

Perez is wrong, it's the middle of the Yankee lineup that's killing them, not the bottom. They have the worst cleanup production in the major leagues.
