Cutter just above the corner low/away, slapped off the end of the bat, breaks his bat, the flare falls in front of Grisham, who gets on it right away, holding Gonzalez to 2nd.
That's now 7 hits off the "good life on the FB" Cortes in 3 2/3 innings, with lefty-killer Refsnyder due in. He's already 1-2.

If the Yankees had a better defensive first baseman this would have been a 1-2-3 inning. Instead it's another runs for Boston.

I only slept from 2-4 AM last night, haven't slept since. But I'm trying to soldier through this game. If I disappear all of a sudden, I've lost the fight against the Sandman.
Lost my fight just before the game and had an alarm set… I know if I fell asleep right before the game, I'd wake up at 4 am, alarm be damned. |

Refsnyder takes a FB on the corner away, 0-1
Gets another "good life on the FB" right down the middle, belts it toward the corner in left for a RBI double, Gonzalez scores, Duran stops at 3rd, 3-1 Sox, and Nestor is about out of rope.

Do you ever wear that jersey Kaybli? It was actually a shirsey with his name and number. I can't find it anymore. I think I threw it out by mistake.

Sox relentless here against Nestor, who has no answers. Yes, they've had a few bleeder hits, but 8 hits in 4 innings isn't ALL luck, and 3 of the hits were harder than 105 mph, and they've just missed a couple of HR, too.
Top 4, 3-1 Sox.

Volpe takes a sinker on the inside corner, 0-1
Sinker in the zone down and in, grounded up the middle, Rafaela makes an excellent lunge to grab it, spins and fires high to 1st, and by the time Gonzalez can catch, come down and tag, he's on the bag. Leadoff infield hit for Volpe, who's 2-2 tonight.
