Wells takes a curve in the zone low/away, 0-1 Swings over a splitter way low, inner half, 0-2 Takes a bounced splitter, 1-2 FB above and outside middle, late and fouled. Small sigh. Hittable sinker there, Austin. Curve at the knees in the middle, bekted to deep right center, almost a 3 run HR, off the top of the wall, rebounds past Marsh, both runs score, and it's 7-2 Yanks!!! Yanks belting Wheeler, Wheeler's on my fantasy team...

Austin Wells has been a godsend. This type off offense from the catcher spot is huge for a team that's been struggling to trot out league average hitters besides Soto/Judge. If he keeps this going with hopefully some other guys rounding back into their normal form it helps take the lineup still to another level.

UGH I'm so tired of Stanton. Between the injuries and being so dreadful to watch at the plate. I'm just over it. I wish there was a way to just move on.

Wells is growing up in front of our eyes! Just turned 25 on July 12. He seems very comfortable in the clean up spot.

Stanton takes a FB at the top in the middle, not called, bad call, 75% on Gameday, 1-0 Sweeper outside, 2-0 FB just misses outside maybe a make call, 2-1 Takes the curve low away, 3-1 Misses a FB at the top inside, middle at 96, 3-2 FB inner half, waist high, misses under, high pop behind 2nd, Stott catches, inning over.
Yanks tack on 4 big runs, expanding the lead to 7-2, going bottom 5 and that might be enough. Maybe. Or not. 37 pitches for Wheeler in the 5th, 103 total and he might be done for tonight.
Gil had a long time on the bench, has to face Stott, Hays and back to the top for Schwarber to get his 3rd look at him.

UGH I'm so tired of Stanton. Between the injuries and being so dreadful to watch at the plate. I'm just over it. I wish there was a way to just move on. Other than his first at bat back from the IL, his last two at bats have not been bad. No strikeouts and getting the ball in the air. His timing doesn't look as off as I expected it to be.

Hays takes a waist high change, outer 3rd, 0-1 Swings over a change at the bottom near the inside corner, 0-2 Chases a slider going well outside for the K, 2 down.
