Congrats to chiyankee ‘s Steelers who beat the Ravens and are now 8-2! Thanks Kay. The Steelers are the masters of playing and winning ugly football games, I just wished I could have seen it. The CBS channel here in Chicago showed the Lions/Jaguars matchup, a game no one outside of Detroit wanted to see. When the score got to 49-6, Lions, I thought for sure they would switch to the Ravens/Steelers game, but no, they waited until the game ended to switch over. I think Tomlin is a great Coach. He seems to consistently get the best out of his talent. Still a bit surprised my Ponies gave you one of your two losses, can't recall much about the game but suspect you might have been dealing with injuries although the Colts have been in alot of close games. The only game that was more than a one score game was a 20-10 loss to the Bills. I'm trying not to get too excited, but AR looked like a QB yesterday. He had a really good game and led the offense on two long td drives including the game winner against a pretty good defense.

I may need to pick him back up.

Maybe they think the NFL is like the NCAA and it helps their rankings.

It's nice the Steelers are always competitive and have never bottomed out like the Browns, but on the other side, they haven't won a playoff game in 8 years and haven't been to the Super Bowl since 2010. Plus there's some embarrassing home playoff losses since then. That said, this has been a fun season so far, their schedule isn't easy going forward with games against the Chiefs and Eagles, plus a rematch with the Ravens still to come. As for that Colts game, the Steelers were still starting Fields at QB, so the offense just wasn't scoring enough points and Flacco came off the bench and played well in that one.

For pippsheadache"On November 5, 1967 in Week 8, the New Orleans Saints tallied their first victory in franchise history by beating the Philadelphia Eagles 31-24 in front of 59,596 fans at Tulane Stadium. Saints wide receiver Walter “The Flea” Roberts scored 3 touchdowns including a 91 yard kickoff return and a 27 yard offensive fumble recovery return to go with a receiving touchdown. New Orleans defensive back Dave Whitsell intercepted Norm Snead and took the ball 41 yards for a pick-6." Great story Rizz. Norm "The Scorned" Snead, who the Eagles obtained from Washington in a trade in which they gave up fan favorite Sonny Jurgenson! The Eagles were horrific in those days. In 1976, Norm Snead, then with the Giants, became the last quarterback to win a game with a QBR of zero, beating his former Washington team 12-9. It was also his last game in the NFL. Cool reference to Tulane Stadium. The Green Wave is nationally ranked and looking good this year.

Can't recall an NCAA football seasons where there were so many upsets of top ranked teams from week to week. Northern Illinois beating Notre Dame at South Bend still takes the cake for me. Otherwise The Fighting Irish would likely be ranked Number One. I love what Army has been doing, but it's their turn against Notre Dame this Saturday.
