Thankfully, we won’t be seeing another Will Warren start anytime soon. Rizzo likely to be activated for Sunday’s game and Schmidt is close to returning. Will either have one more rehab start or join the Yankees in Texas.

It was only 4-1 when Warren left, no reason the offense shouldn't have been able to comeback. definitely put them in a hole but leiter really put it out of reach. the offense needed to do better against the cardinal's pitcher.
as far as punting, with gil on the IL and schmidt still rehabbing, there was no one else.
