Having a great year but not way beyond his career averages. And he is doing it with the benefit of hitting in front of Aaron Judge !!! You didn't ask anything about players having a year that's way beyond such players career average. You asked.. "Has anyone outperformed the back of their baseball card this year?"
Soto is outperforming his career stats.
Why did you mention that Soto is doing it with the benefit of hitting in front of Judge? For awhile Donaldson hit in front of Judge. Ruth hit in front of Gehrig. So what?

Anyone who saw Donaldson in Minnesota recognized he could't hit any longer. Nothing was going to help him. But I do think it helps good hitters to have quality behind them. I will point out that Soto got 13 IBB last year. This year he got one. Judge, who did not have a lot of protection until recently, has 18 this year. When I asked about people outperforming the back of their card, I was asking if they were performing beyond their normal output. Sorry if my lnaguage wasn't clear. As for Juan, his career obp is 421. His obp for 2024 is 425. His career BA is 285. His 2024 BA is 291. His 98 rbi is a bit better than last year when he drove in 105 but well behind his career high of 130. On balance, I think he is having a year that is represenative of his career. His home runs are up...but that might RF in Yankee Stadium.
