Would you pitch Nestor over Rodon in the playoffs at this point? Good question, but I think they'll still go with Rodon. Yea, money talks I guess. I think Nestor has better mental makeup than Rodon. Rodon may have better "stuff" but he can be a headcase.

Nestor has been more consistent and Rodon's habit of giving up the long ball can be an issue. Going with Nestor instead is certainly worth considering.

I frankly don't understand all of the "speculation" over the postseason rotation. The Yankees have made it very clear by what they have done. Cole, Gil, and Schmidt are locks with Rodon as the "situational" fourth starter. If the Yankees are facing elimination in game 4, they go back to Cole and Gil. If they're up 2-1, they go with Rodon.

Time will tell, but frankly I'd be surprised if the post season rotation is Cole, Gil and Schmidt. Other than Cole, I don't see them as locks at all. Maybe if we were facing a Team that was overwhelmingly RHed, but even then I don't think so.

Well, that's certainly the most likely way to go. I could see the Yankees doing something odd like pitching Cole in games 2 and 5 of the ALDS, hoping that they win in 4 and don't need him for game 5, and making him available for game 1 of the ALCS. It'd be a big mistake to mess around in rounds you haven't won yet, but I could see it happening.

Would you pitch Nestor over Rodon in the playoffs at this point? Yes. But do I think Boone will, or perhaps more accurately, Cashman will let him? No. Rodon is one of those guys that can get hot and carry you. He's also a guy that can completely implode at the drop of a hat. It's a sizable risk, but a risk I expect them to take. Nestor has been shaky at times, but I feel like Rodon's lows have been much lower.
