And several canyons in Colorado… How's it going, Leon? Pretty decent. Sleeping well. Although I’m up tonight, I’ll probably get back to bed within 20 minutes or so. I took another pill…

Yanks now 1 game back of both Philly and LA for the best record in MLB. Yanks 91-64, Dodgers and Phils both 92-63. That determines home field for the Series, assuming the Yanks get there. Yanks have the tiebreak on the Phils because of the sweep, but the Dodgers have the tiebreak on them because they took 2 of 3 against the Yanks at the Stadium in June. The Yankees are also 1 win away from home field vs the Astros if they meet in the ALCS correct? They are 6 up with 7 to go and have the tiebreaker. If I remember right the Astros always had home field in every ALCS they have played the Yankees in? Yanks magic number to clinch homefield against the Astros is 2, so, yes, as they hold the tiebreaker, the Magic Number vs. the Astros is actually 1. Vs. the Astros in the playoffs…the Yanks were the home team for the AL Wild Card game in 2015, but Dallas Keuchel shut them down, and Tanaka pitched well, but gave up 2 runs, and that was more than enough. In the 2017 ALCS, the Astros won games 1, 2, 6, and 7 at home and won 4-3, so yes, they had the homefield advantage in that series. In the 2019 ALCS, the Astros had the advantage again, but the Yanks took it away temporarily in game 1, winning 7-0, but the Astros seized it back and them some, winning both games 3 and 4 at the Stadium, before closing it out in game 6 at home. In the 2022 ALCS, the Astros had homefield yet again, but it hardly mattered as they swept the Yanks. So if the Yanks can win one more game, they'll have the homefield advantage if they play the Astros.

Interesting note. Many times we have lamented about the starting pitching. Tonight's shutout was the 14th of the season. It ties them with the Mariners for the AL lead. Not bad.

Another huge win. Everyone getting hot and rolling. Clinch and take 2 of 3 from Baltimore and get ready for the Playoffs.

Not bad. for the season the starters are 6th in the mlb. they were either 1 & 2 for those 1st 70 games before slumping for a while (which included injuries to schmidt & gil and a slow return for cole). for the month of september, the starter's ERA is 2.85 and 1.25 over the last 6 games.

Yes, I can still here the banging of the trash cans that cost us a World Series trip that season.
