when push comes to shove, pretty sure in the PS, verdugo's gonna get the majority of reps. in the PS, you absolutely cannot have your LF'er misplay a fly ball. this isn't the regular season where you have 162 games and you can get them tomorrow. just once could change the outcome of a game or even a series.
think they'll live with dugo rolling over pitches in exchange for his defense. best case for the martian is to start a game, get a couple AB and dugo comes in as an early replacement. any additional offense, like last night's HR will be considered a bonus.

If Soto is resigned we will have to figure out the OF alignment. JD seems to be a better CFer than LFer and we might want to take some wear and tear off Judge. He played a handful of games in LF this season and I think he's athletic enough to make the move. The down side is you wouldn't be optomizing his arm. Not sure Soto would be a good choice for LF. Well, I guess we will cross that bridge..... I think the future will be greatly shaped by the events of the next month. The bidding for Soto might get sick. If it does, the Yankees could pivot and go after Adames or Bregman to play 3rd and put Jazz in the outfield. I am sure we will beat that conversation to exhaustion. In a scenario that moves Jazz to the OF, how would you configure it?

I'd start Grisham in LF over Verdugo.

I'd start Grisham in LF over Verdugo. I'd start Hicks or Gallo over Grisham.

I'd start Grisham in LF over Verdugo. Re Dominguez' OF "Struggles"... Red Sox Rising Superstar Named Top-10 Defender, Marking Impressive Turnaround
Jarren Duran had a fantastic summer chasing balls down in center and left field, contributing to his breakout season that saw him win All-Star Game Most Valuable Player. It would have been a great defensive year for anyone, but for Duran in particular, it was a marker of tremendous growth. In the summer of 2022, Duran had several awful moments on defense, creating battle scars that would haunt him all winter. A lost fly ball in the lights turned inside-the-park grand slam and two more drops in a crucial loss in Kansas City were just a few of the lowlights. Two years later, the script has flipped completely. Duran was named the ninth-best defender in all of baseball by Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller. "Sources tend to agree... that Duran's outfield defense is well above average, and a big component of his value added as one of the 10 best players in the majors this season."

In a scenario that moves Jazz to the OF, how would you configure it? All I know for sure is that I want Judge in RF. If someone told me that the Yankees were playing a 275 poiund man in center field in 1980 I'd have gvien them a referal to the local psych doctor. Both Jazz and Dominguez could handle LF or CF with enough reps. And if they Yankees lose out on Soto, Santander might be the consolation prize and they keep Jazz at 3rd. That is what makes the offseason interesting.
