He is an asset in left field but his hitting is a major disappointment. His numbers are the lowest since the year he came up. As a left handed hitter I thought he would thrive with our short right field. Domínguez needs to be in the post season lineup. As it stands we’re getting nothing from Verdugo.

I don't care about his numbers against Kremer. No way he should have been starting today over Dominguez.

He's...you know...not good. Boone is buffoon for playing him over Dominguez. A Boonefoon if you will...

I think his allergies played with his head this year… still a fine player next year but likely not in NY…

I have been behind Verdugo all season, but his hitting has never come around and I don't think it will for the playoffs. Though he is a defensive asset, he is too one dimensional. I hate to say, but I would rather roll the dice with Dominquez and keep Verdugo off the roster. He will not be back for 2025 anyway.

I was good with the acquisition of Alex Verdugo but watching him this year changed my opinion. Maybe the allergies are an issue...maybe a family issue or maybe just the vagaries of baseball. No matter how you slcie it, Verdugo has been bad for a big part of the year. Even his recent hitting uptick is almost exclusivley check swing singles and topped balls that sneak through the infield. Since June 1 the guy has 4 home runs in 380 pa. If Boone is afraid to go with Dominguez. I'd prefer Grisham or OC in LF.

verdugo has been a major disappointment. actually did have a run from april 8 - june 14, when he hit very well - more in line with what we expected. .285 BA 8 HR 38 RBI .805 OPS. whether it's the "allergies" or from having run into walls too many times, he's fallen into a deep black hole. absolutely anemic since that game in fenway hitting .205 3 HR 17 RBI .547 OPS. no power whatsoever.
would rather see dominguez out there but he had a couple fly ball misadventures last week, so they're sticking with verdugo tenuously for now. will be interesting how they proceed in the PS. think this final week is an audition for both.

Otherwise, last night's lineup is the same tonight.

I loved the energy Dugo had at the beginning of the season but his bat has fallen off big time. If they resign Soto he does not have any future value here. I would rather have Dugo on the bench then Grisham.

JD seems to be a better CFer than LFer and we might want to take some wear and tear off Judge. He played a handful of games in LF this season and I think he's athletic enough to make the move. The down side is you wouldn't be optomizing his arm. Not sure Soto would be a good choice for LF. Well, I guess we will cross that bridge.....

I think the future will be greatly shaped by the events of the next month. The bidding for Soto might get sick. If it does, the Yankees could pivot and go after Adames or Bregman to play 3rd and put Jazz in the outfield. I am sure we will beat that conversation to exhaustion.
