Higgy just hit his second HR of the post season. You have to be happy for him. He'll be a baseball lifer...coaching, possibly managing in MLB someday.

wow just wow ... not sure which result is more shocking but happy to be rid of the astros & O's. but be careful what you wish for. two 86 win teams. oddsmakers & the stat nurds must be freaking. btw HF meant nothing in these series. what'd i tell you suzyn ... tigers thought they were so out of it that they traded an ace-type pitcher - jack flaherty. since aug 10, went 31-13. doesn't any hotter. they won the game using an opener and 7 pitchers to shut down the astros. and yeah we've had issues with holmes, but how about josh hader, $95 mil closer coming in and allowing a bases clearing double. don't think i've ever heard michael kay so excited. royals came in ice cold going 11-18. we did win 5 of 7 against them but their walk-off against the aforementioned clay holmes on june 13 jump started our tailspin. sal perez killed us. they have the batting champ and seth lugo shut us down. should be fun. I'm happy that the Astros lost. But I think with Hader the Yankees would have had a good chance to have the best record in MLB, which means the Yankees might have had home field throughout the postseason. But signing Hader would have taken the Yankees over the top luxury tax threshold, so it made sense for the Yankees not to sign him. Signing him would have cost the Yankees way too much money, plus, hurt their draft, and cost them international signing money. If I remember correctly, the Yankees are linked to a couple of top international prospects.
But all that is neither here nor there. I'm happy that the Yankees are in the postseason and looking forward to the Yankees and Royals continuing their postseason rivalry. Should be a good series. Both the Royals and Tigers showed that they can play baseball against the best of teams and come out winners. I'm happy for both those franchises and their fans.

I don't think anyone in San Diego is upset about losing Soto yet. King and Higgy both came through but the playoffs are just getting started. Way too early to speculate, but their is a chance a great story develops.

I'm not a Hader fan and I can't give you a good reason why. Somthing about him rubs me the wrong way. I enjoyed watching the Tigers rough him up in game 2 of their series.
