Slider inside corner, lined to right for a hit, Hampson scores easily, Berti cuts off the throw smartly, gets Garcia into a rundown and Volpe finally tags him out.
That run is on Verdugo, who had no business throwing home on Pham, allowing Hampson to get to 2nd. He might've scored if Witt did something, but Verdugo made it easier.
Royals put up 4, lead 4-1, going bottom 4. I don't think the Yanks are going to get 3 more off of Ragans. I hope I'm wrong.
Volpe, Verdugo and Berti for the Yanks in the 4th.

And this is the worst of the 7 remaining teams. Imagine playing any of the others?

I just left to go pick up stuff from the pharmacy when it was 1-0. Accidentally saw that it was 4-1 so I fast forwarded. Yuck.

Maybe the Yanks can generate some offense? Now is the time to answer back.

And this is the worst of the 7 remaining teams. Imagine playing any of the others? The Indians are probably a better matchup for the Yanks because of their weak rotation.

Verdugo's gaffe in the field directly costs the Yanks a run. Sigh.

The only good thing is that Witt leads off the next inning with the bases empty.

The fear associated with Rodon realized. Looks great for a couple innings then completely goes to pieces. Not what you want at that salary 4-1 geez. Quite a hill to climb. When have we ever been confident with Rodon?

FB misses just inside at the top, called strike 1 anyway, missed by an inch or two on Gameday, bad call, 0-1 Change just outside, 1-1 Slider bounced over home, 2-1 Change yanked way inside makes Volpe spin away a bit, 3-1 Makeup call, FB hits the low outside corner at 91.6. Perez yanked it, but still didn't get the call, 50-50 on Gameday, Volpe got a break, and walks to lead off the 4th.

Not the inning you want by the Yankees in the top of the inning, but the Royals starter is all over the place tonight and their bullpen is not that great this is not over.

FB well outside at 92. Ragans has lost velocity, I wonder if he's hurt. Perez realized it right away, asks the bench to warm a reliever.
