Not the place for this, I guess, but I have a few minutes before the game to kill... From NBC Sports (formerly Rotoworld): 'The Athletic’s Matt Gelb said that the Phillies “will be connected to the biggest offseason prize, Juan Soto, all winter.”
Gelb points out that Soto “has maintained a close relationship with Phillies hitting coach Kevin Long” and that the Phillies will certainly not let payroll get in the way of any improvements that could be made to the team this offseason. While Nick Castellanos is likely returning with two years left on his contract, Gelb suggests the team could move on from one or both of Brandon Marsh and Johan Rojas in order to free up space for Soto. “The Phillies, at least, could raise the price for a rival to sign Soto” which means we should see the Phillies involved in the Soto sweepstakes for a while this offseason. If his primary objective is to win a World Series, he won’t find many teams with a better chance in 2025.'

Need 7-9 shutout innings from Cole tonight. Or at least 2 or less runs ... nothing else is acceptable !

Guardians and Tigers are 2-2, bottom 6 in Detroit. Jose Ramirez hit a solo HR in the top of the 5th for Cleveland to give them a 2-1 lead, but Zack McKinstry answered with a solo HR of his own in the bottom of the 5th to tie it up again. Wencel Perez just singled in a run with 2 outs in the 6th for the Tigers for a 3-2 lead, leaving them just 9 outs away from the ALCS

Ugh. What do we have to do to not get Bob Costas? Get to the ALCS. Somebody else is doing that series, I read somewhere.

Wacha ready. Torres steps up to the plate. Game underway... FB inside corner belted to left center, into the gap, Isbel cuts it off, but Torres dives headfirst into 2nd with a leadoff double! Great start for the Yanks.

Soto takes a change down the middle, 0-1. FB waist high, inner 3rd, cracked through the right side for a single, Pham bobbles it, allowing Torres to score without a play, 1-0 Yanks!!
