Noel... Starts him with a waist high FB outer 3rd again, and he fouls it again, 0-1 FB inside, taken, 1-1 FB above middle at 95, swung under, 1-2 Takes his timeout. Bounces a slider over the middle of the plate, chases it for the K; again, Wells must throw to Rizzo to complete the play, 1 down.

Gimenez takes a FB almost right down the middle at 96, 0-1 Swings over a slider dropping just low and outside, 0-2 Almost the same slider maybe an inch or two further outside, chases that one as well, swings over it for the K!!
Bottom 5, 4-0 Yanks. ANOTHER great inning for Rodon, 1-2-3 on 11 pitches with 2 more K's. He's at 70 total through 5. Chisholm, Volpe and Rizzo for the Yanks in their half of the 5th innings.

And how!! 23 swings and misses in 70 pitches. A 15% swinging strike rate is considered elite among starters in MLB. His swinging strike rate is twice that so far tonight.

Avila still in the game. Chisholm... Takes a curve low and outside, ball 1. FB below middle at 91, but he misses, fouling it off. 1-1 Change tails outside, taken, 2-1 Change well outside, doesn't chase, 3-1 FB inside corner, thigh high, tries to belt it to the Porch, misses it, 3-2. FB below middle, almost in the same spot at the 1-0, still can't connect, fouls it off. He should not be missing meatballs like that twice in the same at bat. Pressing a bit. FB in the drop the bat happy zone down and in, smashed toward Gimenez, he goes down and plays the short hop, throws him out. 96.2 on the grounder, hardest ball he's hit in a while.
