FB waist high, 97, just outside by an inch or two, 2-1. Crowd boos, but that call is correct, 0% on Gameday.
FB runs up and in, ties him up, fouls it off, 2-2
FB misses outside 3-4 inches, 98 mph, he lays off, Wells moves the mitt, but no sale, and it missed anyway, 3-2
Sinker down the middle, and tops it foul off 3rd.
Tries to get him to chase the slider low and outside, but he doesn't fish for it, ball 4.
And call is done at 89 pitches. Bases loaded, 1 down.
Clay Holmes coming in with bases loaded isn't the best idea, Boone. But neither is Hill.
He'll face Brennan with the go-ahead run on 1st.

Brennan has faced Holmes once and was hit by a pitch.
When I said Holmes isn't a good idea with bases loaded...too many HBPs, too many WPs, too many ways a lost slot can cost run(s).

Un-Ace like outing from Cole. Very disappointing. I concur. But, have to credit Cleveland for being patient and situational at bats. Their ground balls have been finding holes in both of these games. |

Un-Ace like outing from Cole. Very disappointing. A lot of these hits he allowed came on pitches 2-4 inches out of the zone, the Guardians just hit them. Brennan gets a sinker inner 3rd, grounds it to Rizzo, too slow for a DP, he gets the force at 2nd, run scores, other to 3rd. 3-2 Yanks. Gimenez up. |
