kept hearing about the invincible guardian bullpen. who's afraid of virginia wolff. When their starters cant go more than 3-5 innings the bullpen becomes a weakness like I said that year they had Britton and Chapman and the Yankees never got that "It's over in the 7th inning stuff" to work ever. You gotta at least get 5-6 innings or more consistently in baseball playoffs to do this for sure. Yankees rotation didn't have any starts where they were out in the 3rd inning or less I don't believe all post season. That killed them in previous years. This Cleveland team reminds me of those Yankees teams that relied on the bullpen too much and if the starter got knocked around they got exposed. Cleveland is a scrappy team though. They have nothing to be ashamed of for sure. If they get Bieber back to normal and get another solid starter they could be scary.

Now they have 5 days to heal...let's hope the Mets take the NLCS to game 7 and both teams wear each other out good!!!

Gotta say it's impressive to lose a gut wrenching game like Thursday night and then turn around and win the next two. That was key. Previous years it always spiraled. Not this year.

Yanks stymied for 5 plus innings by Bibee, until he hangs one slider to Stanton, was there...waiting for a mistake, and he punished to tie the game Great, gutsy relief work from Hill, Cousins. The Great Soto, headed for the Hall of Fame if he can stay in one piece through his prime years, gets the pennant winner blow, the 3 run shot after fouling off four pitches off of Gaddis, who is an excellent reliever. Really. Didn't matter; Soto got him anyway. And Weaver saves his own win with 27 pitches, toughing it out. And the Yanks have a chance to win it all. But now, 5 days off. 1st game of the series is Friday, game 2 is Saturday. If the Dodgers win one more game, they'll be in LA, if not, it'll be in the Stadium.
It's for real, gang. 15 years isn't that long a wait for most fan bases, but for Yankee fans, it's almost an eternity. O's lost for them? Too bad. Astros knocked before they got a chance to kill the fans hopes again? Don't care. Yanks beat the "weak" teams in front of them? Perform a naughty act on my person. Now they get their reward. The Yanks might have an uphill fight in the Series, but that's for another day. Yanks win their 41st AL pennant. One more hill to climb.
The first 8 seconds apply here. Maybe not so much the rest, but I'll take it.

The Guardians have a nice memory in Game 3. That was quite the game after the Yanks came back and took the lead against their closer.

my heart is still pounding ...
potg is definitely soto. 3 hits in the game including the big one. hey hal fork over the money. soto's moment was set up by rocchio mishandling verdugo's ground ball.
my honorables are stanton, who despite wearing the hat, hit the big game tying HR. and weaver is who closed it out w 2 innings.
extra credit to the bullpen for 4 1/3. it was middle guys who got it done - leiter (who wasn't even on the roster), hill & cousins. as it turns out we had the better bullpen.
gleyber with 2 hits was huge and under the radar was wells working that big walk in the 10th. decent start by rodon.
series mvp??? tossup between stanton & soto.
