Verdugo up, as the Yanks get through the order. Takes a FB in the middle above the knees at 97, 0-1 Takes a change low, Naylor pulled it way up, no sale, 1-1 Change on the corner away, lifted to fairly deep left, Kwan goes back and catches just in front of the track, inning over.
Bottom 2, 0-0 Easy 1-2-3 for Bibee in the 2nd, 2 K's and a flyout, 11 pitches and 30 through 2. Thomas, J. Naylor and Noel for the Guardians in the 2nd.

Welcome back, Pipps! Thanks Rizz. We've been waiting 15 years for the Yanks to get here, and it would be nice to close the deal tonight. It's amazing how much less emotionally draining it is when you keep tabs from afar.

Thomas... FB just below the high, inside corner, taken for a strike. Good pitch. Bounces the slider on the inner half, taken, 1-1 Curve drops into the zone below and outside middle, throwing Thomas off, he takes it, 1-2 FB 3 inches above the zone at 96, chases for the K, 1 down.

J. Naylor takes a FB in the zone low/away at 96, 0-1 Slider thigh high misses outside, 1-1 Slider on the low outside corner, slapped down 3rd slowly, Chisholm playing toward shortstop and deep has to run way in, throw on the move, the throw is both late and offline, infield hit. Sigh.

They get so many cheap hits.

I swear, Cleveland has had more infield hits, dinks, and dunks this series.

Don't expect an infield hit from Naylor. He looks like Babe Ruth in his last season.

FB at 97 above and outside middle, fouled off, 0-1 on Noel. FB in the middle below the top at 95, fouled back, 0-2 Slider on the low inside corner, breaks his bat, grounds it just foul off 3rd. Needed to be more down and in, Carlos. Flies open, FB misses way high and outside, 1-2 Humped up to 96.7 on that FB. Slider down and in, pulled hard but way foul off 3rd. FB inner 3rd at the top, swung under for the K, perfect location, K, 2 down.

Don't expect an infield hit from Naylor. He looks like Babe Ruth in his last season. Maybe closer to John Goodman when he played Babe Ruth. But, like Ruth, he's more mobile and athletic than he looks.
