Hill gets his four hitters out, just 14 pitches, so Boone lifts him for a righty to face Smith.

Judge is well on his way to set a strikeout record for a WS. Does anyone know what is the WS strikeout record?? Gonna be hard for him to catch Cody Bellinger, who struck out 17 times in 29 PA in the 7-game Series against the Astros in 2017. Sure seems like he's trying.

Bullpen has kept it to 4-1 since Rodon left. Gotta take advantage of that.

Holmes into the game Why not? Let him throw his 20-30 pitches in a relatively low leverage situation, and he gets a day off tomorrow, like everyone else.

Yamamoto proving that you can be dominant with only four strikeouts. Two of them Aaron Judge. We saw this last night from Cole. Six innings of one run ball for both.

Sinker above and inside middle, taken for a strike, 0-1 Takes a slider down and in, 1-1 on Smith. No chance slider way outside, 2-1 Slider catches the inside corner waist high, not called. Marginal, 5-10% on Gameday, but still, a strike, 3-1 FB above and inside middle fouled back, 3-2 Slider on the outer 3rd, bounced to Chisholm at 3rd, fields, throws him out, inning over.
Top 7, 2-0 Dodgers. Stanton, Chisholm and Rizzo for the Yanks in the 7th. Banda, Vesia, or stay with Yamamoto?

If only they can get into a position for Soto to do something big...if only the Dodgers don't walk him anyway.

This feels a lot like that one loss against kc where they scored 4 early and the Yankees never got anything going. Hope for a better result.

Yamamoto still in... Stanton takes a cutter way low, ball 1. Misses a cutter on the outside corner, 1-1 Hangs the slider waist high, inner 3rd, but he pulls it foul off 3rd. Hit it hard, but too early, 1-2 FB above and inside middle, fouled back. FB below the waist, inner 3rd, fouled back again. Getting to the end, FB back to 95-6 now. Splitter moves in on Stanton, ties him up enough, his flare to short right is handled by K. Hernandez, 1 down.
